On DEV: Reflection
Reflection by Essemoh Teepee
There is the cliché that a definition of insanity is repeating the same actions over and over hoping that the outcome will be different each time. There are many parallels to that in the world right now that I am not going to comment on.
However, the converse of that idea is the process of once you do something, you then consider how well or badly it worked, make adjustments and do that thing again. That is called reflection, what we may think of as learning from experience. Apart from being generally a good thing to do in all parts of one's life, reflection is especially useful when you are seeking to improve an idea or a technique.
An idea to make reading dirty stories more fun
Directed Erotic Visualisation© did not appear out of nowhere, fully formed into a useful protocol that helps listeners enter into a relaxed, altered state of mind and experience their fantasises. Over ten years ago it was a germ of an idea to try give the reader a richer experience of erotic stories and erotica in general. Good erotic writing attempts to do what Stephen King* calls '…having a meeting of minds…engaging in an act of telepathy. No mythy-mountain shit; real telepathy.'
The writer has a vision of events and is describing it in such a way as to communicate that vision as effectively as possible into the reader's mind. An important tenet of Neuro Linguistic Programming is 'Communication is the response you get'. Which is another way of stating what King is saying. What has all that to do with DEV©?
One of the aspects of good erotica is that it entertains and arouses. I dislike the word titillates, that feels like a vaguely sniggering behind the hand sort of word. I am talking about the type of writing that get the blood flowing to your cock or your clit, getting both hard. The image-making in your mind that gets the juices flowing in a very real way.
Back in 2005 audiobooks were not as pervasive and popular as they are now and many were simply a voice reading the text. Usually the production was competently done, often with some interpretation, but not too much so that the performance became an audio play. 'Whisper synch' was just a gleam in Amazon's mind's eye at the time.
However, I was not thinking about a straightforward text to audio linkup. I wanted to try something a little more, something that brought together several different techniques with erotica writing that would really communicate and get the desired response.
I had been experimenting with suggestion techniques and highly erotic narratives in long distance connections. The outcome of such connections being Orgasmic release, but 'hands free', using only the dimension of sound, no masturbation. Remember, this was long before the technological development of smart sex toys and most viewed arousal and orgasm at a distance using the voice as just 'phone sex'.
Instead of becoming an 'add on' to a sexy story, the technique became something that stood alone. It was an erotic experience where a voice directed the relaxed and receptive listener through a guided visualisation to orgasm. Hence the eventual name Directed Erotic Visualisation©.
One on one working, like any interaction is the most powerful communication. There can be feedback and adaptive responses to make the activity more effective. I wanted to discover if the same outcomes could be achieved through a recorded audio alone. The very first experimental audios were released through Literotica.com to see what an unprepared audience would make of them.
They were limited to just 9 minutes duration by the technology I had access to then, which cramped their style a little. I released an audio, aimed at women in March 2007. I was fortunate to persuade one of the stars of Literotica, Wyked Voyce to record a version for men and released it in December 2008. Between them they have been listened to by more than one million people to date.
From the feedback and trying out new ideas DEV© evolved. There are now some 200 audio erotic DEV© experiences for hetero men and women, Gay men and Lesbians. They are now available through eSensualbooks.com, Amazon, Audible, Apple iTunes and affiliated platforms. The Literotica audios have been copied and taken up by innumerable audio steaming sites and pirated across the globe. I have said to friends that if I had a cent for every orgasm that DEV© is responsible for I would be a very wealthy man. They have replied that I have a healthy Karma bank balance instead.
In the coming months I am working with my colleagues at The Manor, the Headquarters of eSensual Books, to select the best of those early years, some of the classic examples of Directed Erotic Visualisation© and re-present them to listeners who may not have experienced their unique qualitied.
I recommend you explore the back catalogue of DEV© where you will find some delightful escapes into fantasy and very erotic passionate encounters with your libido.

DEV© making the world better - One Orgasm at a time

There are probably many of us that think about the one that got away. We think about what we should have done if we only knew what we know now, what could have been if we had only been brave enough to reach out and take that person in our arms, what we would do if we had another chance. It's a thought that can drive you mad, almost as mad as a sexual desire left unfulfilled for 10 years. So what happens when the one that got away happens to walk right up to you during your high school reunion and says "Hi"? Grace is about to show you.
